SECO LARM E-964-Q495Q Enforcer Quad Photobeam Detector, 495 Foot Range
Product Description
Quad (four) infrared beams provide reliable perimeter security
Weatherproof design ideal for outdoor applications - with an outdoor range up to 495 feet
Quick, easy installation with built-in laser beam and audible alignment system
Adjustable frequency and interruption time
Built-in Normally Open and Normally Closed relay outputs
Adjusting the Delay Time
The delay time adjustment knob sets how long the beam can be interrupted before triggering the alarm. A short delay time (high sensitivity) is suitable for catching fast moving intruders, but more susceptible to false alarms. A long delay time (low sensitivity) reduces false alarms, but fast moving intruders may not trigger the sensor.
Running the Wires
Run a cable from the alarm control panel to the photobeam sensor. If burying the cable is required, make sure to use electrical conduit. 22-Gauge, 20-Guage, 18-Guage, or 17-Guage shielded cable is strongly suggested.
Weatherproof Construction
Ingress Protection (IP) is rating for electronic products as it relates to the amount of sealing they have against the entry of solid and liquid objects. Complete details of this standard can be obtained from the IEC. This uniform and widely acknowledged classification system provides equipment designers and specifying agents with a convenient and reliable method of comparing relative levels of sealing between competing (connector) products. In its simplest form, the classification system consists of the letters "IP" followed by two separate digits, which denote increasingly greater sealing from solid objects and from water.
The Enforcer Quad Photobeam Detector has a rating of IP55. The first number '5' refers to the degree of protection against access to hazardous parts and ingress of solid objects. 5 is the next to the highest rating, "Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment; complete protection against contact". The second number '5' refers to the degree of protection against the ingress of water. 5 is one of the highest levels of protection, "Water projected by a nozzle against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects."
